Natural Conception
While fertility treatments can be a powerful tool for some couples, many still achieve pregnancy through natural conception. At Motherness, we support you in understanding your natural fertility and provide guidance on optimizing your chances of conceiving naturally.
Key Factors for Natural Conception:
- Ovulation Tracking: Understanding your ovulation cycle is crucial for timing intercourse during your most fertile days. We provide education and tools for tracking ovulation, such as basal body temperature (BBT) monitoring, ovulation predictor kits, and ultrasound follicular monitoring.
- Preconception Health: A healthy lifestyle plays a major role in natural conception. We offer guidance on nutrition, exercise, stress management, and lifestyle changes that can improve fertility for both partners.
- Reproductive Health Assessments: For couples experiencing difficulty conceiving, we offer comprehensive assessments to identify any underlying fertility issues, such as hormonal imbalances, fallopian tube blockages, or sperm quality concerns.
When to Seek Help for Natural Conception:
- If you are under 35 and have been trying to conceive for a year without success
- If you are over 35 and have been trying to conceive for 6 months without success
- If you have irregular cycles or other signs of fertility concerns

What is natural conception?
While fertility treatments can be a powerful tool for some couples, many still achieve pregnancy through natural conception.
How long does natural conception last?
A healthy couple can conceive in the first month of trying. If the couple are under the age of 35 and in good health, it’s normal to take up to a year.
What is the natural conception rate?
There are the chances of a spontaneous pregnancy. The first month of trying is when conception is most likely to happen (30%). After that, the likelihood gradually decreases to roughly 5% by the end of the first year. After six months, cumulative conception rates are approximately 75%, one year later, 90%, and two years later, 95%.
How successful is natural conception as women age?
Women under 30 have a 25% chance of conceiving naturally each cycle. This decreases to 20% after 30 and just 5% by age 40, according to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.
